About Us: A Simple Gesture in Utah
What Is A Simple Gesture?
A Simple Gesture is a nonprofit organization with a long tradition of fighting hunger in communities across the United States. Our chapter serves Utah neighborhoods and we are working hard to continue the overall mission of A Simple Gesture in our state.
A Simple Gesture began in 2011 when the founder, Jonathan Trivers, opened the first chapter in California. In 2024, we’re seeing A Simple Gesture continue to grow and there are now close to 70 active chapters. Our efforts are fueled by generous members of the community who give of their time and resources to combat hunger.
ASG Utah - Our Mission
A Simple Gesture Utah was started to continue the goals and mission of all A Simple Gesture chapters: to fight hunger in our local communities. We secure food donations from caring individuals through our Green Bag Program and those donations are sent to food pantries that have been carefully chosen for their reputation for and ability to help Utahns.
It’s our goal to combat hunger across the state of Utah while fostering a stronger sense of community among our donors, volunteers, and recipients of aid.
